But where?
A recent Kevin O’Brien tweet reminded me as to the IPB crest which is the only other crest on the College Street building which was an Allied Irish Bank.
The Cork branch at 97 South Mall did reciprocate somewhat but included a lot more crests than Cork and Dublin.
The cities and towns on the plaques and the translations that I have found through web searching are listed below
Deo Prospiciente Florebit – suggested Waterford but not what is in use– ‘God foresaw flourish’ via online translate
Statio Bene Fida Carinis – Cork - ‘A Safe Harbour for Ships’
Vita Veritas Victoria – Derry – Life, Truth, Victory
Urbes Stant Legibus – Athlone - A city stands by its laws
Pro Tanto Quid Retribuamus – Belfast – ‘What shall we give in return for so much’
Obedienta Civium Urbis Felicitas – Dublin - 'The obedience of the Citizens produces a happy City'
