While recently down in Gougane Barra, I spotted a circular building with a thatched roof. Upon investigation, it turned out to be a toilet. But not ‘any old toilet’ but an Award-Winning Toilet. Up until then, I have never heard of the National Top Toilet Award. Even searching the internet has only thrown up references to the facility at Gougane Barra. The Local Authority Members Association Awards website only has details of winners from 2010 to 2013 – and not a Top Toilet Award to be seen. So it is possible that the toilet facility at Gougane Barra is actually the current champion Top Toilet. I am not sure I want to consider in too much detail what the award criteria were or even how the selection committee were established. Better stop writing now……… |
