Last Sunday, we headed up Mount Brandon – exactly one year after the last successful time. Seven children and ten adults successfully reached the summit – even if the cloud cover meant that the view was non-existent. When we reached the shoulder and encountered the cold wind coming off the Atlantic, I was reminded of my efforts last March to climb from the Ballybrack side. Driving back to Cork the next day, I was again reminded of that unsuccessful effort. The poster has been floating about the brain for the past week.
