I am finding that my Irish is improving but more by questioning signs rather than trusting them as correct.
I spotted the Irish version before the English and thought that ‘lán’ might be incorrect on two fronts.
In Irish, the noun precedes the adjective and so ‘Boycott Lán’ would be the correct order as I understood.
But ‘lán’ translates as full. It appears that ‘oll-‘ or ‘sluaite’ may have been more appropriate.
I have also learnt that ‘Boycott’ translates as ‘Baghcat’ – it is a bad day when one doesn’t learn something new…..
