I was in Lisdoonvarna earlier today and came across what must rank as one of the most unusual content of a plaque that I have ever come across. The next time we head to Clare, I’ll have to have a pint and ask the reason as to why….. UPDATE 2018.02.17Today, I spotted a tweet from John Harris which advised that it was 'Macdonald (Max) Gill's font design for use on Imperial War Graves Commission headstones' and includes a photo of version 4 which was used from 1914-18
